When I first read Adrianne Wadewitz’s blog post, A Day in the Life of a Digital Humanities Postdoc, I was excited. My first thought was: there are others out there! Adrianne is a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Digital Humanities at Occidental College and works in a similar environment as I do, and with a similar purpose.
We are both supporting faculty in digital humanities scholarship and creating awareness on our campuses. Moreover, we are both exploring/researching how digital humanities and digital pedagogy (which I’ll just call digital scholarship) fit in at a liberal arts college. Instead of doing these activities in isolation, it would be great to find more people with whom to collaborate.
What approaches work? What strategies haven’t been successful and why? What’s been the biggest surprise you’ve encountered? These are all questions from which we can learn.
So, if you’re a postdoc or fellow in digital humanities or digital pedagogy and wish to collaborate, please get in touch. Whether it’s through the comments, the hashtag #dhfellows, or email, I’d love to hear from you and learn from your experiences.
