The Research and Instructional Support (RIS) team at Mount Holyoke College seeks an enthusiastic, creative and service-oriented new colleague to join us in integrating forward-looking, meaningful library research and instructional technology into the teaching and learning activities at Mount Holyoke College. (Funding through December 2015.)

RIS is one of five units within Library, Information and Technology Services (LITS). LITS is a responsive and dynamic organization that facilitates the creative and effective use of information and technology for the Mount Holyoke College community. It supports the educational priorities and learning goals of the College by providing instruction, expertise, materials, and equipment to support and positively influence learning, teaching, and research, and to advance the College’s mission.
Collaborate with faculty and others to design, implement and assess the meaningful integration of technology and information skills and tools into teaching and learning activities at the college; serve as liaison to one or more academic departments and support their needs in relation to instructional technology, library research, and collection development; provide library research and instructional technology consultations and instruction in a variety of modes and settings; maintain a high level of customer service to all members of the MHC community; work with the RIS team to create a welcoming environment in which a diverse population of students, faculty and staff can thrive.
Advanced degree required, preferably in education, educational technology, instructional design, or library/information science with an emphasis in instruction and assessment. Also open to other combinations of education and experience such as advanced degrees in academic disciplines and experience teaching at the college level. 3-5 years experience teaching in an academic setting required, either in a classroom setting, in research support, or in an instructional technology capacity.
Demonstrated passion for the teaching and learning process and an understanding of a variety of pedagogical approaches, plus the ability to develop effective learning experiences for students and faculty is essential. Creativity, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, enthusiasm and the ability and desire to work collaboratively with colleagues required.
